My Writing Secret

I was recently asked about my writing method, how I manage to shake things out of my wrist to create blog posts, feature articles, website content, and so much more. Here's my secret writing process:
I imagine each project the same way a contractor builds a house. The concept, the big idea is the foundation. It has to be strong, and it has to be laid out in a way that suits its purpose.
Next, I put up the walls, creating an outline and subheads. I put all that down and perform some quality control, revising as needed, moving things around, making sure it all flows well together. Then comes the fun part: the "interior decorating" where I fill in each section with details, colorful descriptions, and evocative phrases. The final paragraph is the roof that caps it off, pulls it all together, seals it up tight.
If you're having trouble with a writing project, think of it like building a house and see if that helps.
Or contact me - and I'll begin construction right away.
